The Millerites
Many claiming to be Protestants as the test come
The sun, moon and stars forecast His soon return
As scoffers claim that loving Him is enough
They know not the day nor the hour!
As the Father makes it known by principles
Elijah returns from the wilderness of woe
The north receiving deadly wound of perdition
Few know the day and hour!
As the prophetic day and hour are made known
The sixth trumpet sounds the procession
The everlasting gospel is heard in missions
They maketh known the day and the hour!
Many turning to their professors of theology
Is the day for a year principal true?
Could this be a delusion is time so definite?
Can they know the day and the hour!
They knew the time of Ottoman fall
The time of God’s judgment that approached to all
Yet scoffers shut their doors in rejection of truth
Saying no one should know the day nor hour!
Behold the Bridegroom cometh at midnight
The cry that caused great religious awakening
The wise and foolish virgins now tarrying
Awaiting the final hour!
The foolish majority virgins with no oil
No light to shine upon their path to Christ
The few wise moved forward in faith to the next apartment
Where Christ would received them in that great hour
In bitter disappointment they understood the event incorrectly
As the sanctuary the cleansing received
And denominated his people to receive Holy law
No one must forget that day and hour!
